The International Aeolus Competition for Wind Instruments has firmly established itself as a worldwide recognized stage for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone and Tuba. It takes place once a year in Düsseldorf since 2006.

Aeolus Competition is open to young musicians of all nationalities younger than 28 years. Each year three of the Instrument groups are opened for competition: 2024 the competition calls for Bassoon, Flute and Clarinet. The total prize money is € 60,000, the first prize wins € 20,000.

2024 application phase has started!

Applications for the Competition of 2024 - Bassoon, Flute, Clarinet have started. You find the application form >here on our muvac platform.

Space for competitors is limited. In order to ensure the consideration of an application, we encourage all applicants to submit their applications earlier than the published deadline. Please also check your muvac profile and make sure you have filled in all information about former competition prizes and participations, as well as information about orchestra jobs you had or have. This is vital for the decision about invitations as we expect more applications than we can invite.

Application deadline is April 30, 2024.
